INDIAN ARMY GD

ELIGIBILITY, SELECTION PROCESS (AGE, HEIGHT, CHEST)

Indian army is the world’s largest army, with the largest number of soldiers, the territorial army of India has proved to be a great defence system and so a large number of youth from different states of India want to join Indian army.

Army has a regiments of different states which is divided into 7 commands on the basis of operations and the geographical locations

Indian army GD is a part of General Duty section , which includes the Rifleman, the land defence force , fighting troops, drivers, gunners, operators etc. also includes Army Service Corps,, Army medical Corps

Let talk about the selection process(Age, height, chest)

Eligibility and qualification

  • Education qualification:- 12th pass or equivalent with English and Science
  • Age required:- 17 ½ to 21years
  • Marital status : CANDIDATE SHOULD BE UNMARRIED MALE
  • Nationality:- Indian , Nepal , Bhutan Tibetan and refugee person from Sri Lanka and east African Countries of Kenya Uganda , Pakistan , Burma the united Republic of Tanzania  , Zambia, Zaire and Ethiopia and settled permanently in India.

Physical standards

  • Good physical conditions
  • chest :- 72cm (normal)

77cm (expansion)

  • height : 167 cm
  • weight more than 50kg
  • should be free from diseases

STEPS FOR FORM FILLING

Step I:-  Form Filling

The first step is to fill the form within the specified date there will be requirements of educational certificates, extra physical activities, character certificate, domicile and number of passport size photos. After filling the form and attaching all the documents; the form has to be submitted to the nearest recruitment office. Forms can be downloaded online and print form is to be filled and submitted

Step 2:- Physical Fitness

Physical fitness test is conducted that includes

  • 1 miles run
    • 60 marks  for 5.40 min
    • 48 marks for 5.41 min
    • 36 marks for 5.51 min
    • 24 marks for 6.01 min
    • Pulls ups:-
  • more than 10 – 40 marks
  • for 9 pulls ups – 32 marks
  • for 8 pulls ups – 28 marks
  • for 7 pulls ups – 21 marks
  • for 6 pulls-ups – 16 marks

 Step 2:- Balancing and Jumping

Balancing and jumping are the last steps of PFT, a candidate ha to jump a 9 feet ditch. This is the last & most important physical task, if the candidate could not qualify the balancing and jumping, then he will be out of the selection

Step 3:- Medical Test

Medical fitness is very important. Candidate should be free from any kind of illness. No physical and mental sickness is acceptable hearing, viewing and sparking ability should be very clear Urine examination is also done. Teeth should be in good condition

Step 4:- Written Test

One has to clear Indian Army General Duty exam (NER) exam. This is the last & final step in selection

This is a common entrance exam (CEE) which is conducted on 4th Sunday of each month except March, June, September and December. It includes the subject General Knowledge, General Science Mathematics (30% marks, 40% marks and 30% marks respectively in each area.
