National Defence Academy (NDA) is a competitive exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) , after clearing NDA a candidate becomes officer in Indian Armed Force i.e. Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force .

Physical Fitness Training Schedule

  • Physical training as per required standard in Armed Forces held every Sunday.
  • Will be 4 times in a month.

Test Schedule:-

Every 15 Days projector based test.

1 Unit Test per Month of 2.5 Hrs will be conducted for the students to develop to solve the problem and within the required time limit.

Test Analysis is done so as to develop the key working are of the student.

1 Mock Test in every 6 Months to give feel of NDA Exam.

Selection Process:-

There are three steps for selection in NDA

  • Written Examination
  • SSB Interview
  • Medical

Process Of NDA

Written Examination is of 900 Marks divided into 2 papers 1st paper is of Mathematics & 2nd Paper is of RAGA (Reasoning Ability & General Ability)

Mathematics is of 300 Marks and RAGA is of 600 Marks for clearing written examination candidate has to score 280 to 320 in Indian Army 400 to 450 in Navy & 500 to 550 in Air Force.

SSB Interview:- After clearing written examination candidate called for SSB Interview which is a 5 days interview so here candidate will be tested Officer Like Quality (OLQ) for suitability in Indian Armed Force, days in SSB Interview

5 Days Process:-

Day 1: Screening Test- Here candidate will be asked for watching still blur image for 30 sec and then candidate have to write story in a stipulated time of 4.5 min and then he will have to explain that story to the officers,

three officers who takes the interview

1) Interviewing Officer

2) Psychological Officer

3) GTO Officer.

Day 2: Psychological Test- Here candidate will be tested on mind basis such as Situation Reaction Test (SRT)

Candidates will asked some situations and will be asked that how aspirants will handle that situation when he will become officer and the main motto of taking this test is to check the mental power of the candidate.

Day 3: Ground Testing Obstacles Task- In this process some prescribed task to be allotted and candidate has to clear those obstacles some obstacles like,

Single Ramp, Double Barrel, Balancing Beam, Screen Jump, Burma Bridge, Tarzan Swing, Double Platform, Jump Double, Ditch Commando, Walk Tiger Leap.

Day 4: Personal Interview/Group Discussion: Day 4 is for P I and Group Discussion of the candidate where candidate is being asked 15 questions related to their life, and background

and 1 group discussion on particular topic to be discussed with their respective group so that student gives preference who speaks well in group discussion.

Day 5: Conference Day this is the very important day of candidate because on this day those students got selected will be honored with selected certificate and now they are ready to begin their journey of NDA training in Maharashta, Pune Khadakwasala for 4 years.

One can fulfill his dream of joining officer cadre of Indian armed forces after 12th , to join armyairforce and navy after completing 10+2 by various entries, but there are certain eligibility criteria which is to be fulfilled. Below is a detailed view of how one can join India armed forces after 12th.

Army

There are two 2 ways of joining Indian Army after 12th:

NDA & NA Examination : 

The NDA entry is open twice a year.

Form availability – Jan and June Notified by UPSC

Vacancies per Course – 300 (195 Army, 66 Air Force, 39 Navy)

The requirements for entry into NDA are as follows:

Age – 16 ½ to 19½ yrs (at the day the course is expected to begin)

  1. Born Between 2nd Jan to 1st Jul for Dec Course and 2nd Jul to 1st Jan for Jul Course

Qualification – 12th Class of 10+2 for Army and with Physics and Maths for AF/Navy

Marital Status – Unmarried

Application to be Received by – 10-15 Nov for Jan Course and 10-15 Apr for Jul Course

Likely SSB Date – Sep to Oct and Jan to Apr(SSB can sometimes get very delayed, so this is just for reference)

Date Commencement of Training – Jan and Jul

Training Academy – NDA , Khadakwasla, Pune

Duration of Training – 3 Yrs at NDA and then 1 Yrs at IMA, Dehradun

2. Technical Entry Scheme -TES (For High School Science Graduates):

The TES entry is open twice a year.

Vacancies Per Course – 85

Form availability – Apr and Sep Notified by Additional Directorate General of Recruiting

The requirements for entry into TES is as follows:

Age – 16 ½ to 19 yrs

  1. Born Between 1st Jul to 1st Jul for Jan Course and 1st Jan to 1 Jan for Jul Course

Qualification – 10+2 Physics, Chemistry & Maths (aggregate 70% and above to apply)

Marital Status – Un Married

Application to be Received by – 30 Jun and 31 Oct

Likely SSB Date – Aug to Oct and Feb to Apr

Date Commencement of Training – Jan and Jul

Training Academy – IMA Dehradun

Duration of Training – 5 Yrs (1 Yrs IMA & 4 Yrs CTWS) Permanent Commission after 4 Yrs

Airforce:

Only one way:

  1. NDA & NA Examination : You can join NDA by taking the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities throughout India.

Eligibility Criteria

Age – 16 ½ to 19 years(at the time of commencement of course)

Nationality – Indian

Gender  – Men only

Educational Qualifications – 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. Appearing final year students can also eligible to apply.

Advertisement Schedule –  May and December. (Advertisement is released by UPSC. Visit www.upsc.gov.in)

Navy:

Age – 16 ½ to 19 years(at the time of commencement of course)

Nationality – Indian

Gender  – Men only

Educational Qualifications – 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. Appearing final year students can also eligible to apply.

Advertisement Schedule –  May and December. (Advertisement is released by UPSC. Visit www.upsc.gov.in)

  1. 10+2 B.tech Cadet Entry: 

Age: 17 to 19½ years.

Educational Qualification: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/Board with at least 70 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

How to apply: One can directly apply online from nausenabharti.nic.in , selection for SSB Interview based on the cut off percentage decided by Indian Navy.
