MUMBAI: Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) is currently working on a prominent assignment for New India@75. The assignment has been taken under the Government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat Policy for setting up a new ammunition hardware project for manufacturing of 125 mm FSAPDS (Fin Stabilised Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot) AMK 339 ammunition with Russian collaboration.
The project ‘Mango’ is in the final stages and expected to be completed by next month at the High Energy Projectile Factory (HEPF). The HEPF has already taken up localization of the raw materials/ components/ consumables for the ammunition and all set to kick off production by the end of this year while the deadline has been set for next year. The ongoing project will be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister on the 75th Independence Day address to the nation.
