Indian Army releases various vacancies for the junior commissioned level post of Religious teacher or Dharam guru. Only male candidates are eligible to apply for this post.
Here we are providing the details of the religious teacher examination.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
AGE LIMIT:
- Minimum Age: 25 Years.
- Maximum Age: 34 Years
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
- Graduate in any discipline with qualification in religious denomination (will be common for Civilian and Serving Candidates)

Note: The above mandatory education qualifications should be acquired by individuals from recognized universities. All the above eligibility criteria are common for In-service and Direct Entry candidates
PHYSICAL STANDARDS :
- Height – Minimum 160 Cms (157 Cms for Pandit Gorkha, Bodh Monk and Maulvi Shia)
- Chest – Minimum 77 Cms
- Weight – 50 Kgs (48 Kgs for Pandit Gorkha, Bodh Monk and Maulvi Shia)
- Physical Fitness Test – 1.6 Km (1 mile) Run in 08 Minutes
- Candidate Upto 30 years of Age: Should be able to run in 05 Minutes 45 seconds.
- Candidate Beyond 30 years of Age: Should be able to run in 06 Minutes 30 seconds
EXAMINATION PROCESS :
- Selection will be done on the basis of written exam &
- Paper-I (100 Marks): An objective type question paper on general awareness and is common to candidates of all Religious denominations.
- Paper-II (100 Marks): Contains objective questions to check the knowledge specific to particular religious denomination to which the candidate belongs.
- Candidate is required to secure at least 40 marks out of 100 Marks.
- The number of candidates to be called for interview will be three times the number of vacancies
- Candidates need a minimum of 50 out of 100 marks to qualify in the interview.
- The final selection will be based on merit list drawn on the basis of the total marks obtained in Paper II and Interview.

- After that you’ll get an application form. You need to fill the form with correct details and after that click on the submit button.
