NEW DELHI: The first Leaders’ Summit of the Quadrilateral Framework will commence on Friday. Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison; Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshihide Suga, and President of United States of America, Joseph R. Biden, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the summit. They are expected to discuss a wide range of issues having global implications and shared interest. Moreover, practical areas of cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region will be deliberated upon. Participant leaders will share their ideas on resilient supply chains, maritime security, climate change, and emerging & critical technologies.
Fight against Covid-19 and providing, equitable and affordable vaccines in the Indo-Pacific region will be the topmost priority and likely to witness brainstorming session to meet the challenges posed by the new world order in a post-pandemic era. However, sources privy to the discussion said that countering growing Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific region will be the top priority of QUAD leaders.
