TGC Entry, also known as Technical Graduate Course Entry, is a form of admittance that allows an engineering graduate (only men) to enter the Indian Army as an officer. What is TGC Entry ?
Every year, the Indian Army seeks applications for TGC entrance, which begins at the Indian Military Academy. TGC is an abbreviation for Technical Graduate Course, and it is issued by the Additional Directorate General Recruiting / AG Branch in May,June and November/December.
All male engineering students in their final year or who have graduated may apply for this position. However, their age must be between 20 to 27 years as of the first day of the month in which the course is due to begin. Notably, the candidates must also complete the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks of beginning training at IMA.

- Lieutenant: At the time of commission.
- Captain: Trainees will be given the post of Captain at the end of successful accomplishment of two years.
- Major: Major post at the successful accomplishment of six years.
- Lt. Colonel: At the successful accomplishment of thirteen years.
- Colonel (TS): After successful accomplishment of 26 years of service trainees will be promoted at the position of Colonel (TS).
Further promotion will be contingent on the fulfilment of the required service criteria.
