Personal Interview Questions Asked In SSB

Defence aspirants eye on becoming the decorated officers in any of the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces. For achieving this target they need to clear the written defence entrance exams like NDA, CDS, INET & AFCAT. Even then they need to go through the SSB Interview process.

SSB (Staff Selection Board) is a special examination body that assesses the candidate for becoming officers into the Indian Armed Forces. SSB Screens the candidates for the Army, Navy and Air Force. SSB Interview is five days long procedure that includes two stages of testing as stage I & stage II.

Stage (I) will consist of Officer Intelligence Rating Test (OIRT) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PPDT) and then comes stage (II), which will consist of Group Testing Officer Tasks (G.T.O), Psychology Tests, Personal Interview and the Conference.

On Day 4 the shortlisted candidates face one of the most important stages of SSB selection, i.e.- Personal Interview. PI (Personal Interview) is a key test that decides your recommendation in the SSB Interview,

It is important to know that Personal Interview (PI) round questions are strictly based on the PIQ (Personal Information Questionaire) form filled by the respective candidates.

Now, we are going to discuss the Personal Interview Questions which are asked in the SSB round. The questions set asked in the Personal Interview (PI) round of SSB process are termed as Comprehensive Information Questionnaire which are asked by the Interviewing Officer (IO) from the candidates based on the Personal Information Questionaire (PIQ).

Personal Interview SSB Pattern

Level of questions depends on how well a candidate has performed in the SSB interview till then.

45 minutes is the total duration.

The aim of the PI round is to test the listening capacity of the candidate.

10-12 questions are asked altogether.

CIQs are ranged in the categories of- CIQ -1, CIQ-2, CIQ-3, CIQ-4.

CIQ-1 

CIQ-1 category questions are asked from the Educational background of the candidates. For graduate-level entry it is asked from Class 12th standard level. For 10+2 (Entry-level) the questions are asked from Class 8th level. The questions also comprise about Achievements, Sports Wins/Participation, Competitive Exams in which the candidate participated as a school student.

CIQ-2

CIQ-2 category comprises of questions related to the candidates family, friends, his/her interaction with relatives, parents, friends and neighbours. Daily activities the candidate indulges in and also about the neighbourhood circle he or she is part of personally.

CIQ-3

This category is of personal level where the IO (Interviewing Officer) asks questions related to Hobbies & Interests, Positions of responsibility the candidate held so far and at last the Extra-Curricular activities the candidates has been associated with.

CIQ-4

CIQ-4 category question comprises of General Awareness & General Knowledge, Technical Knowledge . It ultimately judges the knowledge level of the candidates. Personal Interview Questions are important for all the candidates who qualify the written exam and earlier rounds of SSB and therefore they should prepare accordingly.
