Talking about the SSB, it is a well Known Interview among all the officer aspiring candidates of Indian Armed Forces. SSB is one of a kind of Interview which runs continuously for five days and ensure that their candidates must have every good quality an aspiring officer should have. One of these qualities is their personality. One of the important things which even a common interview judge is the personality and dressing sense of a person.
Sense of dressing plays an important role in SSB as well, as the candidate will be going to head lots of person and he/she will be the idol which their subordinates will follow. Other than that he/she will be one of the people which will represent our forces. So dressing does matter a lot. In any Interview your sense of dressing in the first impression that gets to the interviewing officer. So, you should choose wisely as what to wear for your interview.
Though for SSB it is predetermined in the call letter of the candidates as what clothing items they should take with them for their interview schedule. Below mentioned is the same:

However, it is not mandatory to bring exactly these things. Also, you can clearly see that 1 set of formals is not going to do; you need at least two or three, in summer.
Here we are providing as what Dress Code you should follow for your SSB interview:
-
You should be in formals at your reporting: Light coloured shirt and dark colour trouser and formal shoes (you can use column (a) for this). Many candidates report in Jeans and T-shirt as well. But it is always good to have a formal dress code as it leaves a good impression.
-
Once the screening is over the next day is for psychological testing. It will be advised to have formals on this day too. However, once you get to your room you can change to casual clothes.
-
Day 2&3, will be dedicated for GTO tasks. Day 2 will be the first day of your group testing. On this day, report in the white shorts and t-shirt, along with PT shoes and obviously with white socks. This will also be your dress code for day 3 as well. While in winter, you can wear track suits instead of shorts.
-
Your personal interview may take place on any afternoon from day 2 to day 4. Formal dress code is advised for the same. It can happen that you might be called right after the GTO, In this case you’ll be told not to change and go in the same dress.
-
On the judgement day i.e. Conference when you have to give your final shot. Keep dress code 1 in mind i.e. Formal Dress
-
You can also wear tie/blazer. Most candidates wear a blazer in the conference, so as to give their final shot the best.
-
It isn’t necessary for SSB interview to have a fauji cut But a neat haircut is always preferable.
-
Also, shave everyday if you can, if not then at least do it before your interview and conference. For those who keep a moustache, no need to shave it off, it’s cool.
-
So by concluding: 3 light coloured shirts, 2 dark trousers, 1 white polo t-shirt (t-shirt with a collar), 1 white short, 1 tie (optional), 1 blazer(optional), 1 pair of black (or brown) formal shoes, 1 pair of white PT shoes, 3 pair of socks (at least one of them white) and whatever you want to wear while sleeping or hanging out.
Now, as you know the dress code, there’s another thing you need to know i.e. the way you dress up matters a lot. Your attire speaks before you do. But, wearing a BlackBerry suit won’t get you recommended. Wearing a simple 400 Rs. shirt won’t cause you rejection. Just be the best you can. Show them the best version of yourself.
