How To Become A Sailor : The Navy recruits sailors through an application process based on All India Merit, which includes a written exam, a physical fitness test, and a medical exam. To make the recruiting process more candidate-friendly, the schedule is set up so that candidates have ample time to prepare and the results are announced on the same day. Advertisements in all major national and regional publications, as well as Employment News, are used to publicise the recruitment process across India. How To Become A Sailor : Sailor Entries In Indian Navy 

(a) Artificer Apprentices (AAs) – 10+2 (PCM)-Artificer entry is open only to Male candidates between the age of 17 to 20, with an Educational Qualification of 55% or more marks in aggregate in 10+2/ equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

(b) Senior Secondary Recruit(SSR) – 10+2(PCM) -SSR entry is open only to Male candidates between the age of 17 to 21 who have passed 10+2/ equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

c) Matric Entry Recruits – Matriculation.

(d) Non-Matric Entry Recruits – Below Matric.

It is also important to have an idea of the type of questions that will be asked in the written exam for sailor entry.The question paper will be objective and bilingual (Hindi and English). For Artificer Apprentice, Senior Secondary recruit entrance, and Matric recruit entry, the question paper will be divided into four sections: English, Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, and will last 60 minutes. In the case of non-matriculation, the question paper will be divided into two sections: mathematics and general knowledge, with a total time limit of 40 minutes. Candidates must pass all sections as well as the overall exam. The download section contains the syllabus for each kind of entry.

The advertisement for a specific Sailor Entry can be found in Employment News and other major national newspapers. Only ORDINARY POST will be accepted for applications. Applications sent via express mail, registered mail, or couriers will be refused. Higher education and the percentage of grades will be used as short-listing criteria.

Call-up letters will be sent to eligible short-listed candidates, including the date, time, and location of the recruiting examinations. At the time of the written examination, all original certificates and mark sheets must be produced. On the same day, the Written Test results will be announced. Those who pass the Written Test will be subjected to a Physical Fitness Test and a Medical Examination.

Candidates who were found to be Medically Temporarily Unfit during the initial recruitment medical check can seek professional advice from one of the military’s designated medical centres. There will be no more opportunities for review or appeal. Depending on the available openings, the chosen list will be made up of candidates who meet all of the criteria.

On the result day, the centre-by-centre select list of candidates (depending on the number of candidates to be admitted) will be displayed at the relevant Recruitment Centres. All candidates whose names appear on the Select list and who have been medically cleared in the Recruitment Medical will be considered.
