The course of MNS is of a duration of 4 years degree of B.Sc. nursing at one the 6 military colleges at
- Command Hospital, Lucknow – 40 post
- Command Hospital, Kolkata – 30 post
- Research and Referral (R& R), New Delhi– 30 post
- Command Hospital, Bangalore – 40 post
- INHS Ashwani, Mumbai – 40 post
- AFMC, Pune – 40 post
Total 220 vacancies, out of which 220 military nurses were selected.
After successfully completion of the course the nurses were given the rank of Lieutenant right from the day of passing out parade.The job tenure is of 10 years of SSC and can be extended for another 4 four years.Hence the service is of total 14 years.Once the Training is completed Nursing Officer are transferred at either of:
- Base hospital
- Military Hospital
- Command hospital
Mostly parents of the nurses are worried about the security (safety) of the job of their daughters.Whether the job has any type of risks like militancy or other attack and the answer is you have to serve at the either of base hospitals at Delhi, Srinagar, Guwahati and Tezpur, which are safe.And the military hospitals are at Faizabad, Allahabad, Banaras and Meerut and they are also safe.
