Indian Coast Guard Navik GD & DB Notification 2023

Indian Coast Guard has released the notification to recruit candidates as Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch) 02/2023 Batch at INS Chilka.  Candidates who wants to apply for these posts in Indian Coast Guard 02/2023 can now check the official notification provided below. Online Application Process has started from 6th February 2023.

India Coast Guard Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Online applications are invited from MALE INDIAN CITIZENS possessing educational qualifications and age as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch) in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.

India Coast Guard Recruitment Age Limit

Minimum 18 Years and maximum 22 years as follows:-

  • For Navik (GD): 01st Sep 2001 to 31st August 2005
  • For Navik (DB): 01st Sep 2001 to 31st August 2005

(Upper Age Relaxation Of 5 Years For SC/ST And 3 Years For OBC Candidates) 

India Coast Guard Recruitment Educational Qualification

  • Navik (General Duty):-10+2 passed with Maths and Physics from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
  • Navik (Domestic Branch):-10th Class passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
  • Yantrik:-10th class passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics and Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)

India Coast Guard Recruitment: Selection Process

The Selection process involves 4 stages, we will discuss the step by step selection process. The selection of recruits is based on an all India order of merit on their performance in Stage-I, II, III & IV ) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage-I, II, III, IV and satisfactory performance in training is compulsory for recruitment in ICG.  

  • Stage 1

Stage one includes written examination, there are different sections in the written exam for different posts It is compulsory to pass each section separately. The passing marks differ according to the category of candidate. The candidate has to take following tests depending on post applied:-

Passing in section I and II separately is compulsory

  •  Stage 2

The students who clear CBT of stage 1 will be called for stage 2 depending on the vacancies and ratio decided by ICG, the stage 2 will take 1 or 2 days and candidates will be tested for physical fitness followed by Document verification and Initial medical examination. 

The Physical Fitness Test includes Running 1.6 km ,20 Squat ups and 10 push-ups, all the tree tasks are to be done in continuation. 

  • Stage 3

After completion of stage 1 and 2 an all India level merit list will be prepared and the selected candidates will be called for Stage 3. The stage 3  will last for 2 to 3 days and will include following tasks

  • Document Verification
  • Final medicals at INS Chilka
  • Submission of Original Documents
  • Police Verification 
  • Stage 4

The stage 4 is the final stage of recruitment process, candidates making it in stage 3 will be provisionally shortlisted for training at INS Chilka given that they submit all their documents for verification.
