Dear aspirants, since there are 60 words projected on screen and each word will remain on screen for 15 seconds in WAT. A candidate is required to write the first impression he come across after seeing the word in form of sentence. Now an important point to be considered, out of these 60 words some are negative words and generally candidates get stucked under these conditions. They fail to write their responses within given time and this affects their further performance also. Let us understand, how to handle negative words projected to you people in WAT.
There are two proved methods for handling negative words in WAT.
- DENIAL METHOD
- REMEDIAL METHOD
DENIAL METHOD: denial method suggests that a person denies accepting the negative impact of the word projected and starts his responses by using antonym of the shown or given word. For example; word shown is DARK and candidate stars his response using LIGHT. Word shown is DEATH and response comes with LIFE.
REMEDIAL METHOD: remedial method suggests that a person accept the negative impact of the word shown and he/she wants to control or remove the negative impact of the same. We generally takes medicine when we are not feeling well and we take medicine to control the specific problem, like for headache we take seridon or disprin similarly we take coldarin or vicks action to control cold. These medicines are called remedies and helpful in controling or stopping the negative impact of the problem.similarly there are some remedial words, which can control or remove the negative impact of the word. Example; improve, correct, restrict, control, avoid, remove, minimise, cure, upgrade, enhance, refine, decrease, reduce, restrain, shorten, check, curb, confine etc….
It is my personal advice to the candidates to prefer remedial method over denial method because it reprents you as a person who accepts the challenges or negative situations and knows controlling or overcoming the situation.
