Joint Exercise INDRA

India-Russia’s Joint Exercise INDRA begins

Joint Exercise INDRA : India and Russia are continuously strengthening the political as well as military relations between the two countries.

Due to this, in this month (August) the 12th edition of Joint Military Exercise ‘Indra-2021’ (INDRA 2021) started between the armies of both the countries.

This 13-day long exercise will serve to further strengthen the friendship between India and Russia. The exercise is being conducted at the Prudboi Exercise Range in the Volgograd region of Southern Russia.

There will also be academic discussions between expert groups of both the parties in the conduct of the exercise. It started with a grand opening ceremony. The national flags of both the countries were hoisted in it. In this exercise, counter-terror operations will be conducted by joint forces against international terrorist groups under the mandate of the United Nations.

In ‘Indra-2021’, 250 personnel from both the countries will be part of the exercise. The Indian Army contingent consisting of a Mechanized Infantry Battalion has undergone rigorous training in different parts of India to participate in the joint exercise.
