Martyr Major Mayank Vishnoi’s last rites were performed in Meerut with moist eyes amidst the chant of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Father Virendra Singh Vishnoi lit the fire. Seeing her Lal’s face before the funeral, the mother became unconscious.

Martyr Major Mayank Vishnoi lived in house number 661 in Kankarkheda Shivlokpuri. With the sunrise on Sunday, Bharat Mata’s cheers started resonating in the colony. Every person of Kankarkheda knew that another brave son of Mother India had attained heroic speed. Everyone was eager to have the last glimpse of Major Mayank’s body.
Flowers was seen in their hands and the national flag was waving on the roofs. By noon, ministers, MPs, administrative officers, military officers, public representatives, everyone was waiting for Mayank. In the afternoon, the body reached Ambedkar Road Kankarkheda in an ambulance from Hindon Air Base. Under the leadership of the soldiers of Rajputana Rifle, the martyr proceeded towards his residence with the body. For half a kilometer, the jawans reached home at 4.10 pm with the body on their shoulders. Flowers were raining from every street and house in Shivlokpuri.
The entire family proudly bid farewell to Mayank. From Shivlokpuri again, the soldiers of Rajputana Rifle and Jat Regiment reached Sardhana Road with the body through other routes. People kept shouting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Pakistan Murdabad.

A large number of people reached Surajkund from Kankarkheda on two wheelers and four wheelers. The last rites were performed at Surajkund with a guard of honour. Father Virendra Singh Vishnoi lit the fire at around 6.30 pm. Military officers handed over the national flag to wife Swati.
For the defense of the country, in a year, the second Major resident of Kankarkheda gave martyrdom. After Major Ketan Sharma, a resident of Shraddhapuri, now the body of Major Mayank Vishnoi also reached Kankarkheda wrapped in the tricolor.
