BHOPAL: In a heart-rendering incident, an Air Force Group Captain died in an accident when a MiG 21 Bison aircraft crashed while taking off in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.
The mishap occurred when the aircraft was taking off for a combat training mission. Meanwhile, Air Force authorities have ordered a court of inquiry to investigate and ascertain the cause of the accident. “IAF expresses deep condolences and stands firmly with the family members. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to find out the reasons that led to the accident,” reads the statement issued by IAF. The incident happened months after a MiG-21 aircraft crashed near Suratgarh in Rajasthan. The IAF reported a major technical malfunction on January 5. The pilot of the aircraft had ejected safely. A court of inquiry was ordered to determine the reasons that led to the accident.
