Howitzer Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System Undegoing Trials By Indian Army

After the coronavirus epidemic and lockdown, the message of self-reliant India is being given to the country. Along with increasing the technology, India is also engaged in making the defence system self-sufficient. In this process, the Howitzer Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System manufactured in India is being tested.

This gun developed by DRDO has been made keeping in mind the need of the Indian Army. With this gun, the target can be destroyed at a distance of about 50 km. News agency ANI tweeted a video of this gun trial. The trial of this artillery gun system is being done in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

ATAGS has been developed by the Ordnance Research and Development Department of DRDO and will be produced by the country’s multinational company Bharat Forge. 95 per cent of the content in the manufacture of this gun has been described as indigenous. Apart from BFL, Mahindra Defense Naval Systems, Tata Power Strategic and Ordnance Factory Board of Public Sector are also partners in development and production.
