Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be on a two-day visit to Darjeeling and Sikkim on October 24 and 25 respectively. He will perform Shastra Puja with the soldiers and will spend time with them on the auspicious day of Dussehra.
At the same time, he will inaugurate an infrastructure project built by the Border Roads Organization (BRO). The Defense Minister’s Office gave this information on Friday.
This defense minister’s visit will boost the morale of the soldiers. The Defense Minister has decided to celebrate Dussehra with troops in the border area near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Sikkim at a time when India is facing an impasse with China on the border in East Ladakh.
Sources said that the Defense Minister will visit Sikkim on Saturday afternoon for a 2-day visit and during this time he will visit some advance border posts of the Indian Army and will initiate infrastructure-related projects.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has been performing ‘Shastra Puja’ on Dussehra for the last few years. During the tour of France last year, during the Dussehra festival, he performed the ‘arms worship’ of Rafael in the coastal city of Bordeaux. An official said that the defense minister’s visit to Sikkim to celebrate Dussehra will boost the morale of the soldiers.
