In Gujarat, 24 ministers of Bhupendra Patel government have taken oath of office and secrecy. Rajendra Trivedi, who was the Speaker of the Assembly till now, was the first to take oath. Before the assembly elections to be held in Gujarat next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has changed its entire government.
No leader who was a minister during Vijay Rupani’s era has been included in this council of ministers. Governor Acharya Devvrat has administered oath to 10 cabinet ministers, 9 ministers of state and 5 ministers of state with independent charge. Bhupendra Patel took oath as the 17th CM of the state.
After making Bhupendra Patel the CM after resigning from Vijay Rupani, now the entire cabinet has become new. None of the faces of Rupani’s team, including veteran ministers like Nitin Patel, Bhupendra Singh Chudasama, are included in the newly appointed ministers. Like Bhupendra Patel, who became CM only after becoming an MLA for the first time, his team consists mostly of new faces.
