Recently the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have become the first Corona Free Union Territory of the country with the number of Covid patients being zero. It has been reported in the Health Ministry website that all four patients in the islands have been cured. This result has come due to strict vigilance and monitoring.
A total of four thousand nine hundred 32 cases of infection were reported in the Union Territory. Of this, 62 people died. In the Andaman-Nicobar Islands, no new case of Covid-19 (Corona in Andaman Nicobar) has been reported in the last six days. This information was given by an official of the Health Department on 01 February 2021.
At the same time, no patient has died due to infection in the last 24 hours and the number of dead remains 62. However, the Kovid investigation will continue as per protocol. Chief Secretary of the Islands Chetan B. Sanghi has praised the workers of the frontline and appealed to the people to continue their support.
The islands are famous for their natural beauty and the first case of infection came here on 10 June 2020. On July 27, a patient died, which was the first case of death from infection here.
