Indian captain Virat Kohli has been voted the ICC’s best male cricketer of the decade and the best ODI male cricketer of the decade. Apart from Sir Garfield Sobers, Kohli has been selected as the best male ODI cricketer of the decade by the ICC. At the same time, the ICC has given Mahendra Singh Dhoni the Best Spirit of Cricket Award of the decade.
Indian captain Virat Kohli has been voted the ICC’s best male cricketer of the decade and the best ODI male cricketer of the decade. In the last ten years, Virat Kohli has scored 20,396 runs in Tests, T20s and ODIs at an average of 56.97. He has scored 66 centuries and 94 half-centuries in this decade. Kohli is the only player to score more than 10,000 runs in ODIs in this decade.
Kohli has also been named the ICC’s best male ODI player of the decade. Here Kohli has left behind Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, Lasith Malinga, Rohit Sharma of India, Mitchell Starc of Australia.
The ICC has given Mahendra Singh Dhoni the Best Spirit of Cricket Award of the decade. Dhoni has received this award for the match against England in 2011. Dhoni called Ian Bell to play back despite being run out during the Nottingham Test. Now the ICC has given this honor to Dhoni for that sporting spirit.
