Vijay Diwas - The Triumphs and Legacy of India's Victory in 1971 War

Is celebrated on 16^th December every year. In 1971, India fought a war with Pakistan for 13 days and finally India won the war and history is created as a new nation named Bangladesh is formed formerly known as East Pakistan.

Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 16 December in India. In 1971, there was a 13-day war between India and Pakistan. In this war, India won and the eastern province of Pakistan got independence, which was named Bangladesh. This day is dedicated to the victory of the Indian Army and the independence of Bangladesh. The purpose of Vijay Diwas is to remember the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army and celebrate the importance of the independence of Bangladesh. At the end of the war the 93 thousand soldiers of army of the Pakistan had surrendered to Indian forces. In that was India gave a crushing defeat to the Pakistan. The surrender ceremony took place at the Ramna Race Course in Dacca, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), on 16 December 1971: A. A. K. Niazi of the Pakistan Army formally surrendered to Jagjit Singh Aurora, an Indian Army officer and joint commander of the Bangladesh Forces.

As part of celebration of 52 years of India’s triumph over Pakistan in 1971 War, a Motor Cycle Dare Devil Show was conducted at Milkha Singh Sports Complex, Headquarters Southern Command on 04 November 2023.

The Motor Cycle Riders Display Team, The “Dare Devils” of Corps of Signals is the Indian Army’s oldest performing Despatch Rider Display Team. The team has been nurtured by Headquarters 1 Signal Training Centre, Jabalpur ever since its inception in 1935. Through the years, the team has innumerable feats to its credit which had also marked various achievements and successfully established 29 World Records until date, which were duly recognized by GUINNESS and LIMCA Book of World Records, ASIA and INDIA Book of Records.
