ABOUT NAVY SSR
SSR stands for the Senior Secondary Recruit. The written exam will consist of MCQ-based questions. English, Mathematics, General Awareness, and Science are the four sections on which the applicants will be judged. The candidates need to be cautious as a negative marking of 0.25 marks will be there for each incorrect answer.

NAVY SSR ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Only Indian and unmarried candidates are allowed to apply.
- Candidates need to have passed class 12th with PCM from any government-recognized board.
- Age Limit: The age of the candidate must be between 17 years old to 20 years old.
- There is no relaxation in educational qualification and age limit criteria etc.
- Medical Criteria: A candidate must be medically fit in every manner.
- Physical Criteria: A candidate must be at least 157cm in height with 5cm chest expansion. One should not have any kind of joint defect or any other bones related issues.
NAVY SSR SELECTION PROCESS
Ø Computer Based Examination
- There is a common examination SSR entry.
- The question paper will be computer based and includes 100 questions in which each question carries 1 mark. For every wrong answer, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks which will be deducted.
- The question paper for SSR entry comes in both Hindi and English language. It contains objective type (multiple-choice) questions.
- The question paper covers syllabus of 10+2 as well as sample papers that are available on the official website of the Indian Navy – gov.in.
- The duration of the Indian Navy SSR exam is 1 hour.
- Candidates have to pass in all sections.

Ø Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Qualifying in this round is mandatory.
- This round includes a 1.6 KM run which should be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups and 10 push-ups.
Ø Medical Standards
- This exam will be conducted by authorized military doctors depending upon the medical.
- The minimum height should be 157 cms. Weight and chest should be proportionate. Minimum expansion of chest should be 5 cms.
- Preliminary Medical Examination for recruitment will be considered only “Provisionally fit subject to fitness in the final medical exam”. The final medical exam for enrollment of all selected candidates will be held at INS Chilka. Medically fit candidates will be enrolled. On the other hand, unfit candidates will be advised to appeal against its findings at INHS Kalyani, Visakhapatnam within a maximum period of 21 days if they want.
