Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
The Indian Navy requires a 10+2 education, primarily in science subjects, with additional qualifications needed for higher ranks.	For Merchant Navy also requires a 10+2 qualification with Phy., Chem. and Mathematics, with an age range of 17-25 years.
Work Schedule and Career Growth
The Indian Navy, however, has a more varied schedule, ranging from 8-12 hours, with promotions granted through time scale, selection, and competitive exams.	While in the Merchant Navy, a standard workday lasts 8- 9 hours, with promotions based on sea time and exams.
