AFCAT is an entry for the aspirants who havecompleted their graduation or pursuing in final year of their graduation and age is 20-26 years.Through this entry candidates can join any of the three branches in IAF comprising
- Flying Branch
- Ground Duty Technical Branch
- Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch
Often people See Weapon System asSeparate Branch rather IAF had included this branch under Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch (Weapon System Branch, Administration Branch, logistics, Accounts, education and meteorology).As the country is developing Aatmnirbhar (Self-reliant) similarly the IAF is also becoming more organised. And to continue its journey in a more organised manner IAF had taken three more historical decisions
1st Replacing permanent commission from AFCAT to SSC (short service commission)
2nd Removing EKT (Engineer Knowledge Test)
3rd as AFCAT paper is divided in three days among two different shifts therefore normalization of marks rather Equality of marks is added.
AFCAT 2 2023 Expected Cut Off
In AFCAT 2023 this year
In English: total of 30 questions were asked comprising 17-19 questions are under moderate difficulty and rest are easy one including- grammar, non-grammar, fill in the blanks and including all.
In Reasoning: total 15 out of 25 questions were easy one.
In Numerical Ability: total 12-13 out of 20 questions were moderate one.
GK 25 questions, comprising History, geography, polity etc and was a bit difficult.
Keeping all these factors in consideration, from team Trishul Defence Academy the expectations for the cutoff for AFCAT II 2023 is 155, 156, 157 or 158.

Candidates within a month results were declared for AFCAT II 2023, and then you have to report AF SSB, in the selection centres.
There are 5 Air Force Selection Boards
- AFSB – Dehradun
- AFSB – Mysore
- AFSB – Gandhinagar
- AFSBB – Banaras
- AFSB – Guwahati
Only two out of all these AFSBs the computerized pilot testing system is facilitated and rest 3 are only SSB is conducted and then send for medical after 5 to 7 weeks and then final merit will be released.
