How Girls Can Join Indian Air Force : Girls who want to join the Indian Air Force must take the AFCAT exam. The Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interviews the candidates who have been shortlisted. Candidates must pass medical examinations after successfully completing the interview process. They can join the elite Indian Air Force after passing the test. AFCAT has three branches: Flying Branch, Technical Branch, and Non-Technical Branch.

  • Flying Branch

Flying fighter planes, helicopters, freight planes, and other aircraft will be part of the flying branch. To be considered for this post, a candidate must have a B.Tech/B.E. degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks. Female candidates with an Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ qualification are eligible to apply immediately for the position.


 

  • Ground Service (Technical Branch) 

This position is open to female engineering students between the ages of 20 and 26. The technical branch is divided into two subcategories: 

  • Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) 

Any of the following conditions must be met by the candidate. 

  • At least a four-year degree programme with a minimum 60 percent aggregate. 
  • In normal courses, you must have passed the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers part A and B test or the Aeronautical Society of India exam. 

  • Aeronautical Engineer (Electrical) 

Any of the following conditions must be met by the candidate. 

  • At least a four-year degree programme with a minimum 60 percent aggregate. 
  • Any one of the following exams must have been passed: Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers section A and B test, Aeronautical Society of India, or Institutes of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers.

  • Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

The Ground Duty Non-Technical branch is divided into five groups. Candidates are able to apply in whatever way they see fit. These positions are open to female graduates and postgraduates between the ages of 20 and 26 years. Let’s look at the subcategories now. 

  • Administration  

This position may have two responsibilities. The candidate will be responsible for preserving the law and order of the airspace management as an Air Traffic Controller. Alternatively, as a Fighter Controller, the applicant is primarily in charge of airspace control. Graduates with a least 60 percent aggregate from a recognised university are eligible to apply for the administration category.

  • Accounts 

Candidates with a 3-year B.Com degree or equivalent from a recognised university and a minimum of 60% are eligible to apply for this post.


  • Logistics

The Logistics Department’s main responsibility is to oversee the material management of Air Force assets. Graduates with a minimum of 60% in any discipline from a recognised university are eligible to apply for positions in the Logistics department. Candidates who pass part A and B of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers test are also eligible to apply. 


  • Education  

A series of eligibility criteria must be met in order to join the Education branch in the Non-technical category. 


  • Candidates must be graduates of accredited universities with a cumulative SGPA of 60 percent or above. 
  • The candidate must have an MA/M.SC degree with a 50 percent aggregate in any of the following subjects: English/Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Statistics/International Relation/Psychology/Defense Studies/Computer Science/MBA/MCA/Public Relations/Mass Communications. 

  • Meteorology

Candidates must also meet specific requirements to be admitted to this branch. That is to say: 


  • At the graduate level, math and physics are required subjects, and both must be passed with a grade of 55 percent. 
  • In college, I majored in geophysics, environmental science, and environmental biology. 
  • A postgraduate degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications/Geography/Environmental Science/Applied Physics/Ecology/Oceanography/Agricultural Meteorology with a minimum of 50% marks is required.
