IAF Airmen 2020: As per the updated notification, Air Force X,Y Exam Date will be around 1st week of November 2020 for STAR 1/2020(IAF Group X 2020 Exam, Important Dates & Details).
Check the CASB website regularly to find out the exact exam date.
Note that the STAR 1/2020 e-Pariksha would happen from 19-23 March 2020, but couldn’t due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Also, the Indian Air Force has published the enrollment list and provisional select list for intake 2/2020 at their CASB web portal in PDF format.

Documents To Carry in IAF Airmen 2020 Phase 1
- Admit Card.
- Original Copy of a valid ID Proof.
- Passport Size Photographs
- Blue/Black Ball Point Pen
Phase I or Online Written Test question’s level will be at 10+2.
- X Group will be 60 minutes long, with 3 subjects: English, Physics, and Mathematics.
- Y Group will be 45 minutes long, with 3 subjects: English, Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA)
- X & Y Group will be 85 minutes long, with 4 subjects: English, Physics and Mathematics, and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
IAF Airmen 2020: Selection Process ( IAF Group X 2020 Exam | Important Dates & Details)
Below are 3 phases that a candidate will have to undergo to get a final selection at the Indian Air Force.
- Phase-I: Online Written Test
- Phase-II: Physical Fitness Test
- Phase-III: Medical Fitness Test
IAF Airmen 2020: Educational qualification: (IAF Group X 2020 Exam | Important Dates & Details)
Group X (Except Education Instructor Trade) –
- Intermediate / 10 + 2 / equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English
- Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English
- Three years in engineering in any stream.
- Has passed the diploma course.
Group Y (excluding Automobile Technician, IAF (P), IAF (S), and Musician) –
- Intermediate / 10 + 2 / equivalent examination
- Passed in any stream/subject approved by Central / State Education Board with a total of 50% marks and in English 50% marks
Group Y (Medical Assistant Trade Only) –
- Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with 10 + 2 / Intermediate / equivalent examination
- Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
IAF Airmen 2020: Overall Cut Off ( IAF Group X 2020 Exam | Important Dates & Details)
The minimum marks in English, Physics, and Mathematics is 10 marks each and 15 marks in RAGA.
The overall cut off marks for 1/2020 was 36.25 marks for Group X and 37.25 marks for Group Y.
IAF Airmen Result 2020 Provisional Select List (PSL)
After completing all the selection tests, IAF creates a merit list of all the candidates and publishes them at airmenselection.cdac.in and careerairforce.nic.in.
The overall performance in the Phase 2 testing and the passing the cut off marks create the basis of this merit list.
Also, candidates whose names are in more than one PSLs will get an enrollment call letter in only one group or trade as per their own IAF requirements as the group of trade assigned will be decided by the CASB president.
IAF Airmen Result 2020 Enrolment List
To call for enrollment, IAF creates a list of all the candidates and publishes them at airmenselection.cdac.in and careerairforce.nic.in.
The enrollment list is in the ASC and roll number order, and it does not indicate rank.
If you do not get a call letter, then print the enrollment list page with your name and go to the respective ASC on the enrollment list’s reporting date.

Salary and facilities available to selected candidates
Airmen in both groups receive a stipend of Rs 14,600 per month during training.
Rs 33,100 per month for X group airmen.
Rs 26,900 per month for Y group airmen.
Apart from this, the dearness allowance is also given to selected candidates.
Salary increases in later years. All Airmen are also paid military service pay (MSP) per month.
Apart from this, ration allowance, transport allowance, child education allowance, and HRA continue to increase from time to time. Airmen are also provided with ration and medical facilities.
Leave Travel Concession is also provided to the candidates.
All the airmen are also given the facility of a group housing scheme every month.
All the facilities of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association are extended to the families of Airmen.
Selected Airmen in Group X work in their trade-in technical fields. At the same time, selected Airmen in Group Y work in non-tech trade.
