The cases of Coronavirus infection are increasing rapidly due to Omicron variant in the country. Meanwhile, the country’s topmost medical defense force authority has said that the Omicron variant is less lethal than the delta and beta variants. The Medical Wing of the Army has issued special guidelines regarding the rules related to Corona Testing and Quarantine of the soldiers of the three armies.
Vice Admiral Rajat Dutta, head of the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, said the infection caused by the Omicron variant primarily occurs in the upper respiratory tract.
In many studies, it causes less damage to lung tissue. Due to which this variant is less lethal and most people infected with it do not develop symptoms or see minor symptoms.
