Indian Army Drinking Water

Indian Army Soldiers To Get 24 Hour Drinking Water Facility At 12000 Ft Adjacent China Border

Indian Army will no longer have a problem of drinking water on the Samdo border adjacent to the China border. The Jal Shakti Department has set a record by laying a drinking water pipeline with the help of the army at the highest altitude in Himachal Pradesh near the China border.

The department has started supplying drinking water to the army by laying a seven km long pipeline at an altitude of about 14000 feet above sea level. This project has been carried out by launching a 700 meter long pipeline at an altitude of 12000 feet with the help of wire spans over the Parachhu drain. Earlier in the winter, due to frequent pipeline damage, the jawans used to face the problem of drinking water.

The water source is built near the glacier of Parchhu river which is at an altitude of about 14000 feet. Uttam, assistant engineer of the department, said that about three crore rupees have been spent in the construction of this drinking water project.

This project is about 7 km long. He said that the local workers of the department had launched the pipeline by hanging it on the span wire by putting their lives at risk. During this, the slightest mistake could have cost the lives of the workers. The department has handed over this drinking water project to the army on Thursday.
