The child was badly injured in this attack. Keeping this incident in mind, the Indian Army has banned the rearing of dangerous and cruel dogs in the community area inside Delhi Cantt.
Issuing a circular, the army said that people living in community areas in Delhi Cantonment will not be allowed to keep 5 breeds of dogs i.e. Rottweiler, Pit Bull American Bull Dog, Bull Mastiff and German Shepherd. The incident of assault on a child has also been mentioned in this circular.
It is necessary to follow the guidelines
According to the circular, people living in this area, who have dogs inside their houses or bungalows, will have to put up a warning board near the gate. According to the rule, if anyone violates the guidelines, a police report will be prepared against him and if found guilty, a recommendation will be made to take the pet dog out of the military area.

The circular also states that the pet dogs should be vaccinated and the severity/toughness of the pet should be assessed by the RVC representative. Pet dogs should be kept properly leash while going out.
According to sources, this instruction has been issued for the Delhi Cantonment area. And in the near future, the residential areas falling under 62 Cantonment Boards across the country will also be brought under its ambit.
