The four-day conference of Army Commanders began in New Delhi from Monday. The conference was organized by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. During this he interacted with the commanders of the army. In this military commanders’ conference, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh discussed the strategy to deal with future defense challenges. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said the government has taken several initiatives to modernize the armed forces and produce high quality weapon systems. Addressing the Round Table Conference here today, the Defense Minister said that in the years 2020 and 2021, new horizons have been discovered in the aerospace and defense manufacturing sectors including space and cyber space.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the year 2020 and 2021 saw the discovery of new horizons in aerospace and defense manufacturing sectors including space cyber space, futuristic capabilities and disruptive technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Block-chain, Augmented etc. Lauding the Indian aerospace and defense manufacturing sector, Singh said that the sector is poised to scale new heights. He further said that the Indian aerospace and defense manufacturing sector is poised to scale new heights today.
Talking about the growth of India’s exports in the last 5 years, Rajnath Singh further said that Defense exports have increased by 334 percent in the last 5 years and now India is exporting to more than 75 countries. He said that the Government of India is committed to supporting defense modernization and capabilities development and we have increased defense capital outlay by 18.75 per cent in the annual budget for 2021-22 over the previous year. This is the highest increase in the last 15 years so far
