Virendra Kushwaha, an electrician suddenly drowned and started flowing in water in the RBC canal near Krishi Upaj Mandi in Narwar town of Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. A crowd of spectators gathered to see the sight of Virendra flowing in the water, but no one made any effort to save Virendra. Meanwhile, Brijesh alias Bhola, a soldier posted in BSF 108 Battalion Jaisalmer, who reached the spot after getting information, also reached there. Seeing Virendra flowing, he immediately took out his track shoot and jumped into the canal to get Virendra out and saved his life. After first aid, Virendra was referred to Gwalior for treatment.

Brijesh, who jumped into the water to save Virendra’s life without caring about his own life, says that he was just fulfilling his responsibility. He told that in the morning when he was playing volleyball in the police station premises, he got information about the drowning of the electrician from some people. When he reached the spot, a man was seen running. Seeing this, he took out his track shoot and jumped into the water to save him. Brijesh says he is army and so it was his duty, he has done his duty.
Regarding the incident, Narwar police station in-charge Manish Sharma says that the electrician was not in a position to speak at that time. Sharma told that Virendra has been referred to Gwalior for better treatment, now he is better. He told that only after talking to him will it be known how he drowned.
