Discussions between India & China : The standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) continues even today. Several rounds of discussions have taken place between the two countries, but have been in vain. The 13th meeting of the Corps Commander level was also held on Ravivore. Military officials of both the countries discussed the Chushul-Moldo border. The discussions between the two sides during the meeting focused on resolving the remaining issues along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. However, this too remained inconclusive.

In the meeting, India told China that the situation along the LAC was caused by unilateral attempts by the Chinese side to change the status quo and violate bilateral agreements. Therefore it was necessary that the Chinese side take appropriate steps in the remaining areas so that peace can be restored along the LAC in the western sector.
India said this would also be in line with the guidance provided by the two foreign ministers at their recent meeting in Dushanbe, where they agreed that both sides should resolve the remaining issues at the earliest. The Indian side emphasized that such resolution of the remaining areas would facilitate progress in bilateral relations. During the meeting, the Indian side made constructive suggestions to resolve the remaining areas but the Chinese side did not agree as well as could not make any forward-looking proposals. Thus the remaining areas were not resolved in the meeting.
