Maharashtra tops in suicide case, revealed in NCRB report

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in its annual report said that there has been an increase in suicide cases in 2020 as compared to 2019. In India, 1,53,052 cases of suicide were registered in 2020 i.e. an average of 418 cases per day. This information has been given in the latest figures of the Central Government.

However, now the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has presented the report related to the year 2020, it is quite shocking. According to the NCRB report, during the year 2020, where the cases of suicides have seen the biggest jump since the year 1967, there has been a significant reduction in road accidents.

The number of students and small entrepreneurs who commit suicide is very high. This NCRB report shows the data from January to December 2020. According to the report, 153,052 new cases of suicide were reported in this one year, which is the highest since 1967.

The NCRB, which works under the Union Home Ministry, said that the suicide rate (per lakh population) has also increased. It was 10.4 in the year 2019, but last year it was 11.3. The highest number of suicide cases were reported in Maharashtra. A total of 19,909 cases were registered in Maharashtra which is 13 percent of the total cases.
