Central Govt Launches Operation Green Scheme

The Central Government has now announced on 11 November 2020 to provide 50 percent subsidy on air transport to transport 41 notified fruits and vegetables from the Northeast and Himalayan states to any place in India. The scope of the Operation Green Scheme has been extended by the Central Government with the aim of protecting the horticulture farmers from economic loss due to Corona infection.

According to a release by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, this facility, launched under the Operation Greens Scheme under the Self-Reliant India Campaign, according to this facility, the airlines will provide transport subsidy directly to the supplier/consignee / receiver and agent and the actual contracted freight charges. Only 50 percent of it will be taken from them.

After approving the plan, the revised plan guidelines were notified on 02 November 2020. The transport subsidy under the Operation Greens scheme was earlier applied to the Kisan Rail Yojana which came into effect from October 12, 2020.

Indian Railways charges only 50 percent of the fare on notified fruits and vegetables. The 21 fruits under this scheme are mango, banana, guava, kiwi, litchi, mousambi, orange, kinnu, lemon, papaya, pineapple, pomegranate, jackfruit, apple, almond, amla, Passion fruit, pear, sweet potato and chiku. 20 vegetables include French beans, bitter gourd, brinjal, capsicum, carrots, cauliflower, chilli (green), okra, cucumber, peas, garlic, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, large cardamom, pumpkin, ginger, cabbage, squash and turmeric (dry ) Has been kept.
