The ‘Bhasha Certificate Selfie’ campaign has been launched by the Ministry of Education with an aim to promote multilingualism and encourage cultural diversity to promote the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
The objective of this initiative is to promote ‘Bhasha Sangam’ mobile app which is developed by MyGov India and Ministry of Education. Using this app, people can learn 100+ sentences of daily use in about 22 scheduled Indian languages. The initiative aims to ensure that the people of the country acquire basic conversational skills in several Indian languages. 75 lakh people learning basic communication skills has been set as a target to achieve the objective of this initiative.
The Bhasha Sangam mobile app was launched by the Minister of Education and Skill Development, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
The ‘Bhasha Certificate Selfie’ initiative encourages people to use the hashtag #BhashaCertificateSelfie while posting selfies with their certificates on their social media accounts.
To get the certificate approved by the Ministry of Education, the user has to first download the mobile app, which is available on both Android and iOS platforms. The user can then choose any language from the list of 22 Indian languages, complete all the levels, take a test and get a certificate.
“Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2015 with an aim to celebrate the cultural diversity of India as well as establish a strong mechanism to develop cultural awareness and nationalism among the citizens of India. was done.
