IAF test fired surface to surface Brahmos supersonic missile

Our defence forces and DRDO have launched many versions of Brahmos missiles. Leading the way , Surface – to surface version of Brahmos is test and launch from mobile platfrom.

Indian is the only country to introduce this advance technology.

Before moving take a look of types of various missions  various missiles air to air missiles, surface to air , surface to surface, defence missile , cruise missile, submarine launched Ballistic missiles, Anti tank missiles. The Brahmos missile launch recently is type of surface – to surface missile. On 22nd October it is launch from Trak Island in the Andaman Nicobar islands. Indian Airforce launch Brahmos version so that it can test the capability to hit at point, at a distance of 300km.

  1. First of all the feature Brahmos missile is the fastest missile in the world.
  2. It is of medium range of 300km.
  3. Another feature of missile is ,its ramjet supersonic missile .
  4. It is also a type of cruises missile.
  5. It has weight of 2.5 tonnes.
  6. Brahmos Aerospace, an Indian Russian Joint Venture (JV) produces this missile.
  7. It can be launch from ships, submarines, aircraft and also from land platforms.

History of Brahmos missile

  1. The first surface-to surface Brahmos missile launch in June 2001.
  2. Another version launch in June, 2004 also in March 2009.
  3. In September 2010, New record of  becoming first cruise missile with supersonic speed in steep dive mode .
  4. The last land-based trial was conducted from the same base on March 11, 2017 successfully.
