- X-Group ( Technical)
- Y-Group (Non-Technical)
SELECTION PROCESS
Selection for the post of Indian Air force X group based on three-phase of examination-
- Written Examination
- Physical Standard Test, SRT and GD
- Medical Fitness Test
EXAM PATTERN:-
The questions of the X group exam are of objective types. There is a penalty of ¼ marks deduction on every wrong answer.
AIRFORCE X GROUP
Airforce X group syllabus consists of 3 subjects:-
- Section 1-English which Comprises 20 Questions.
- Section 2-Physics which comprises of 25 Questions.
- Section 3-Maths which comprises of 25 Questions.

ENGLISH SECTION:-
This section comprises of Grammar concepts like Active Voice, Passive Voice, Prepositions, Synonyms, Antonyms, Adjective Uses, Fill in the blanks, etc. topics. The Focus is on Both Grammar and Non-Grammar sections. In the Grammar Section, Candidates are required to find out Spotting The Errors(2 Questions Come From This Section). Of rest 18 Questions there are 5 Questions coming up from Reading Comprehension. When we talk about the vocabulary section there is 1 Question Coming up Each From Synonyms and Antonyms. There’s 1 Question coming from One Word Substitution,1 From Mis Spelt Word. Fill in the blanks cover a majority of 5 Questions,2 Questions are covering from Conversion.1 Question Each From Narration and 1 From Passive Voice so in Total 20 Questions are coming up from the English Section. - Errors in the use of verbs
- Sequence of tenses and errors in the use of tenses,

- Degree:- Affirmative, Comparative degree, Positive degree, Superlative degree etc.
- Formation of words
- Determiners
- Parts of Speech
- Clauses – Noun clauses, Adverb clauses of condition and time and Relative clauses
3. Vocabulary:-
- Synonyms and Synonyms in context
- Antonyms and Antonyms in context
- One word substitution
- Spelling Test
- Simple Idioms/phrases
- Words often confused/Selecting the correct word fitting in a sentence
4. Narration
- Direct Speech
- Indirect Speech
5. Voice
- Active Voice
- Passive Voice
6. Sentences Rearrangement
- Arrangement of jumbled sentences into meaningful ones.
