Chinese Army Build Bunkers Near Doklam

On one hand, China is negotiating with India and assuring withdrawal of the army from East Ladakh, on the other hand it is strengthening its military presence near Doklam. Information has been revealed about building a military bunker and collecting weapons in the Chinese village close to the narrow Indian corridor (chicken neck) connecting the northeast. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is also working to strengthen the military infrastructure there.

According to the intelligence report received by the Indian Army, China’s PLA is rapidly building new bunkers in the area and deploying weapons in them. Doklam is the area where Indian and Chinese armies stood face to face for 72 days in 2017. China was trying to build a road there, encircling the border of Bhutan, which could threaten the security of the north-eastern states.

The area where the Chinese military is currently increasing its military presence is close to Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Such new constructions have been seen in and around Domosongrong and Bumdro villages in the China border. There are some villages near the border of China where people no longer live. The PLA is also building new ones within them to use them for military use.

Not only this, PLA patrolling has also increased in the area. Mera La, Thag La and Yangtse are areas where the Chinese military has started patrolling in recent times. She is increasing her activity in the area. Chinese soldiers are becoming knowledgeable of the area. Two mobile communication towers have also been erected in the border Chinese village of Tirkang. With this, mobile service has also started in the area. Information about construction of some roads has also been revealed.

At the recently concluded 15th G20 summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke of resolving the dispute through dialogue. He said that the disputes should be resolved through dialogue. Actually China is pretending to be negotiating on one side and on the other side has also put its army on the border.
