Director Ekta Kapoor In Trouble For Disrespecting Army Via Web Series

Famous film director, director Ekta Kapoor has received a setback from the High Court of Indore. She will be prosecuted for showing objectionable material against the army in a web series. Ekta Kapoor had created a web series, in which she was accused of showing objectionable facts regarding the army. An angry person had lodged a complaint at Annapurna police station in Indore. The petitioner had filed a case against unity in other sections, including inciting people’s feelings. Now Ekta Kapoor will have to come to Indore to cooperate in the investigation.

However, after the case was registered, it was challenged in the High Court by Ekta Kapoor, daughter of film star Jeetendra. Her lawyer had said that there is nothing objectionable in the web series. The police had forcibly registered a case without hearing the investigation and the case. It should be cancelled.

On behalf of the complainant and the police, it was said that objectionable and obscene material is also being submitted without editing on the OTT platform. Therefore, strict action is necessary on the producer-directors.

The High Court reserved the verdict after hearing all the parties. On Wednesday, a bench of Justice Satishchandra Sharma, Justice Shailendra Shukla gave a detailed judgment in the matter. Additional Advocate General Pushyamitra Bhargava had advocated on behalf of the police.

Actually, a web series had appeared on the OTT platform, in which some objectionable pictures related to the army were shown. After which the petitioner of Indore had complained to Annapurna police station, on which the police had registered a case against unity under sections related to inciting religious sentiments and national interest.

After this, Ekta Kapoor, through her lawyer, had filed a petition in the Indore High Court to quash the FIR. In the petition, he told himself innocent. Also, after hearing all the facts today, the High Court has given the freedom to the police to take their action by dismissing their petition.
