India-China deadlock over LAC to end soon

India-China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh are beginning to see the end of the last six months of deadlock. A proposal is under discussion between the two countries under which the forces of the two countries will retreat in three phases and the LAC will be restored before May.

Army sources said that after the consensus reached between the armies of the two countries, it was agreed to withdraw the forces in three phases. It is expected that this proposal will be ratified by the two countries in the upcoming ninth round of military commanders.

According to sources, under this proposal, in the first phase, both countries will repel defence equipment like tanks, cannons etc. deposited on LAC. In the second phase, the Chinese army will retreat to Finger Eight. Currently, he is present in some areas close to Finger-4. While India will retreat to Finger-2, where it was present before May. After this, in the third phase, the armies of both the countries will retreat from the disputed places.

Under the proposal, the armies of the two countries will monitor the steps being taken by each other under a fixed procedure. Only after one stage is successful will it proceed to the second stage. As part of the proposal, a joint monitoring mechanism for surveillance will also be developed, in which officers of the military and foreign ministry will be included.
