Naval Chief Admiral Karambir Singh said that India has a chance to export drones, IT-enabled services and maintenance, repair and overhaul services of warships in the Indian Ocean Region (OIR). He suggested developing a partnership model between India and other countries to build patrol vessels.
Admiral Singh said in an event on Tuesday, warships need maintenance and repair from time to time. If they are brought back to ports for this, then it costs a lot of money and time. OIR has activities all the time as around 70 warships from 40 countries operate. Many of these occur at the far end of their countries.
