India achieved major success in the defense sector. In fact, the Vertically Launched Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) was successfully test-fired from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) off the Chandipur coast of Odisha. This missile will also be able to fire at an angle of 90 degrees from the ground.
Talking about the merits of this missile, DRDO said that this missile will be able to eliminate its target even at a distance of 15 km from the air defense system. DRDO officials have informed that the VL-SRSAM, indigenously designed and developed by DRDO for the Indian Navy, aims to neutralize various airborne threats at close range including sea-skimming targets.

The missile test was being supervised by senior officials of DRDO. The first test of this missile was conducted on February 22 this year and it was a confirmatory test to prove the consistent performance of the configuration and integrated operations. Amit Shah also told on Sunday that DRDO is working on indigenous anti-drone technology to deal with the increasing drone attacks on the border. This technology will soon be provided to the security forces.
