CDS General Bipin Rawat Cremation : India’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat will be cremated today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had paid tribute to the CDS, his wife and 11 jawans at Palam airbase a day earlier. This week, 13 people died in an army helicopter crash in Coonoor in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu.
Apart from CDS, his wife and 11 jawans are included in this. Group Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor of the accident, is being treated at an army hospital. Chiefs of all the three wings of Indian Armed Forces reached Gen Bipin Rawat’s residence.

Meanwhile, Teams of IAF & local Police investigate the site of the crash at Nanjappa Chatram village in Coonoor. The mishap occurred on 8th Dec and claimed 13 lives, including that of CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat & other 11 Armed Forces personnel.
