History Of Sikh Regiment : The Sikh Regiment has raised the nation’s pride many times with its valor. Two things are famous about the 163-year-old Sikh Regiment, which creates fear among the enemies. The Sikh Light Infantry Regiment was established in the year 1941, but their history is 163 years old. At that time this regiment was known as Sikh Pioneers and the story of the formation of Sikh Regiment from Sikh Pioneers is also very interesting. The Sikh Light Infantry Regiment considers Sikh Pioneers as its ancestor and Sikh Pioneers was formed by the British in the year 1857.

In the year 1857, the 23rd and 32nd Battalions of Sikh Pioneers were formed. This was followed by the formation of the 3rd Battalion of Sikh Pioneers in 1887. From the year 1857 to 1932, Sikh Pioneers fought many battles in the world. The Sikh Pioneers were disbanded in 1932. After this, during the Second World War, the British needed more forces, then the Sikh Light Infantry was formed in the year 1941 with the soldiers of the Sikh Pioneers.
The Sikh Light Infantry Regiment Regimental Center is in Fatehgarh, Uttar Pradesh and it is here that the youth are taught the art of making warriors. The Sikh Light Infantry has 19 regular battalions. There are also 3 Territorial Army and 3 Rashtriya Rifles battalions of the Sikh Light Infantry.
