India will celebrate its 75th Independence Day on 15th August. The theme of this year’s Independence Day celebrations will be ‘Nation First, Always First’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on August 15 by hoisting the national flag. According to media reports, all the Olympians who won medals in the 2020 Tokyo Games have been sent a special invitation for this event.

Like last year 2020, this year also the event has been restricted to the public and no cultural performance will be staged by the children. This day is a symbol of the pride and sacrifice of the bravehearts of the country who had sacrificed everything to liberate the country from the oppression of the British.

India celebrates its Independence Day every year on 15th August. Independence Day reminds us of all the sacrifices that were made by our freedom fighters to free India from British rule. On 15 August 1947, India was declared independent from British colonialism and became the largest democracy in the world.
