What Is AFSOD – Armed Forces Special Operations Division

What Is AFSOD : The Armed Forces Special Operations Division (AFSOD) is a tri-administration order of the Indian Armed Forces. The division is entrusted to do exceptional tasks or special operations. The AFSOD draws staff from each of the three exceptional warfare wings of the Armed Forces.

Indian Army Major General A. K. Dhingra, who is a war veteran from the Para SF, was designated in May 2019 as the incharge of AFSOD. The division is relied upon to be changed over into a full estimated tri-administration order in future.

The division closed its first exercise, code named ‘Smelling Field’, on 28 September 2019. The activity was completed in the area of Kutch in the territory of Gujarat. The exercise activity was intended to help in resolving, and thusly tending to the difficulties looked by the division.

What Is AFSOD : A subsequent exercise, code named ‘DANX-2019’, was in this way held in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The AFSOD will work under the Integrated Defense Staff. Units from every one of the three exceptional powers of the Indian Armed Forces will be positioned in the division. The division is required to be completely functional by November 2019.

The AFSOD is required to fill in as the primary association answerable for doing unique activities inside and outside India.

They are relied upon to complete missions like focusing on high-esteem establishments and corrupting the conflict battling capacities of antagonistic countries. The reasoning behind the formation of this division is to pool the uncommon capacities of every one of the exceptional powers units of the Armed Forces and empower them to work together.
