Special Commissioned Officers: There are many servings Non-Commissioned Officer (NCOs), serving OR and serving jawans who are willing to be officer in Army .They are having a lot of confusion regarding Special Commissioned Officer (SCO) Entry.In this Blog we are going to talk about SCO Entry
Firstly This entry is completely for serving personnel’s and hence for this is not for civilians.If you are serving in Indian Army and aged between 30-35 years then you are eligible for SCO entry and the forms are released twice a year. One is in the month of July and the second in the month of November.
How to Fill SCO Form
You have to fill the form and submit it to the unit commandant and he will conduct a basic interview and then forward the form to the brigade level after signing it, further the brigade commander will again conduct a brief interview forward the form to the (div) divisional level after signing. At the divisional level again the heads will again take your interview for further process will forward the application to AHQ Army Head Quarters.After this third level, you will called by Service Selection Board interviews and hence one it is clear that, there is no written examination for SCO.There is no written examination in SCO entry and PCSL entry scheme. Rather there is elementary round of interviews are at the initial level.
1st is at the Unit level
2nd is at the brigade level
3rd is at the Division level
Then the selection centres are allotted and keep in mind that Stage I is eliminated from the SCO commission entry. There is no screening. That Indian army has honored you and your service by removing the stage I and from now you have to face stage II of SSB skipping stage I screening. And your competition is with stage II candidates, where psychologists, GTO officers and interviewing officer assess you on different tasks.
This entry itself is a good entry and do take benefit of it by becoming commissioned officer. Approximately 100 seats were allotted to NCOs and Jawans each and every time in terms of SCOs excluding ACC and PCSL.
These all seats are running vacant in lack of correct guidance. If you are a NCO or a Jawan and wish to join army as a commissioned officer then this is the right time to join through SCO entry scheme.
The only requirement is your age must be between 28 -35 years and you need to have served at least 10 years of service.
