Sample PPDT Pictures for SSB Interview : The Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT) is an important screening test in the SSB interview process. On Day 1 of the SSB Interview, it is held as a Screening Test (Phase-I Selection). It takes place after the OIRT (Officer Intelligence Rating Test). The PPDT begins with a description and then moves on to a discussion.

PPDT (Picture Perception and Description Test) entails writing a story on one given picture (as in TAT), narrating it individually, and finally a Group Discussion in which the candidates (between 15 and 20) are required to discuss and formulate one common story after hearing each other’s stories.

For a total of 30 seconds, the candidates are shown a blurred image. Candidates are then given a time limit of four minutes to write a story based on it. The story should include information about the situation, such as what led to it, what is happening now, and what will happen next. (Previous, Present, and Future)

Candidates must also circle the position of the central character in the picture and mark all of the characters shown in the box on the left side of the paper. The age, sex (male or female), and mood of the character in the picture should also be mentioned. 1 minute has been set aside to write the action before starting the story.
