Indian Air Force Group X Trades
Air Force Group ‘X’ Airmen is a air warrior who is responsible for all the technical work under the Officers. In this Blog we are going to Discuss about Air Force Group X Trades but before that in IAF Group ‘X’ means Technical Trade in which a candidate having PCM in 10 +2 std. There are many trades in IAF in which there is a requirement of technical mind using physics, mathematics and chemistry.
Trades under Airforce group ‘X’-
These are the seven trades under Group ‘X’ in IAF
- Auto Technical: A dedicated department responsible for automobiles mechanism for Military Transport section (MT section)
- Automobile Fitter: it is similar to Auto Technical is responsible automobile engine maintenance.
- Mechanical Assistant: usually if a vehicle breakdowns then we call to mechanic. One who assists is known as mechanical Assistant who assists automobile technicians.
- Weapon Fitter: is very crucial work in defence forces to fit weapons in the machines, which is one of the very popular trade, because now we do not have to lift and fit the weapons it is all computerized or mechanized work.
- Structural Fitter: most of the aircrafts in IAF are made in India by HAL. The group ‘X’ airmens were sent to HAL involve in the maintenance the structure of the planes and helicopters of IAF.
- Electrical Fitter: It comes along with Structural Fitter, who is responsible for the maintenance in communication devices, electrical and electronic devices , metres fitted etc fitted in the fighters planes, aircraft, transport aircraft and Helicopters.
- Propulsion Fitter: they are different for Electrical Fitters, they are only responsible for propulsion work of the engine of fighters plane, helicopter, planes aircrafts etc. the training of the Airmen is given to the best of best group X airmens only. Some of them were given to international exposure also as if someone belong to Rafael unit then his trainings will be held in France. The responsibility of propulsion fitter is to maintain the engine of the fighter plane which gives the force to the plane to takeoff, gives force to the helicopter to fly..
