How Girls Can Join Indian Air Force : How Girls Can Join Indian Air Force : In recent years, the Indian Air Force has been actively recruiting female pilots as well as transport aircraft and helicopter pilots. Young Female Aspirants Can Join Indian AIr Force through 4 Entries. These are 

1.NDA (PC)

2.AFCAT

3.Fast Track Entry also Known As Meterological Entry

4.NCC C Certificate Entry

1.NDA

By applying for NDA or National Defence Academy, the brave girls could become members of the Indian Air Force family. a girl can live her dream as an air force cadet by clearing NDA exam after passing 12 standards. Candidates who are short-listed for the Indian Air Force after the initial selection process must complete a three-year training regimen at the National Defence Academy, followed by specialised training at one of the training establishments.

Following that, they are appointed as Permanent Commission or PC Officers and assigned to any of the Air Force Stations as officers. However, a girl must be aged between 16.5 to19.5 years to apply for these posts. Notably, a total of 19 seats out of 400 are reserved for girls enrolled in the NDA 148 course, which will be the first female batch at the National Defense Academy. For the NDA 148 course, 6 Air Force seats are reserved for female candidates. The number of female vacancies in future courses may or may not change.

  1. AFCAT

The AFCAT 1 exam will be held on February 12, 13, and 14, 2022. The Indian Air Force conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test at the national level for candidates who want to join the Indian Air Force as a Commissioned Officer in Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical), Flying. the female aspirants can also sit in the exam and join the air force.

It must be kept in mind that eligibility criteria for a female candidate in Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) and Flying are different. To become an officer in Ground Duty Technical, a girl must complete her B-Tech with 60% of marks. Notably, girls between 20 to 26 Years of age can apply for Ground Duty Technical post.

In the non-technical entry, a girl can apply for posts in Administration, Logistics, education and Accounts sections. Females with a Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university and a minimum of 60% marks can apply for the Non-Technical Administration and Logistics division. For education unit of non-technical ground a female must clear P.G, MBA, MCA and M.S.C with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 

The entry in the flying unit is for unmarried women between 20 to 24 years of age with a minimum height of 162.5 cm. to enter this service, one need to pass 10+2 with 60% marks in PCM.

  1. Metereological  Department

The Indian Air Force recruits both male and female candidates for the Meteorological department under non-technical Ground Duty. Postgraduate female candidates with minimum 55% Marks are eligible for this opportunity. Notably, it is a direct entry where officers are assigned to look after t6he weather for the Indian air force. 

4.NCC C Certificate Entry

Candidates apply to the Indian Air Force’s Flying Branch as holders of an Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate from the National Cadet Corps. However, a girl must clear her Graduation with a Minimum 60% of marks as well as 10+2 exam with 60% of marks in PCM. Girls aged between 20 to 24 years with a minimum of 162.5 cm of height can join the air force with NCC C Certificate entry.
